Philly Joe had been thinking
about, dreaming of and wanting to form a serious Funk
and Soul Band for the last 4 ½ years and then he met
Keisha D and the lights went on. Hearts of Soul was
conceptualized after Keisha D and Philly Joe performed
together in a show at the Purple Room in Palm Springs,
but the main catalyst for launching Keisha D and Hearts
of Soul was Keisha and Philly performing at the CV Music
Awards Show at Big Rock Pub last spring and a Soulful
Bond was formed based on a mutual love of Funk & Soul
Music. From there Philly put together some of the best
soul musicians in the Valley and Hearts of Soul was
formed.
Together
Keisha D and Philly, along with the help of the other
Hearts of Soul members, put together a Song List that
represent this love and passion for Soul Music, even
taking songs not considered Funk / Soul but adding the
Hearts of Soul touch to them creating that Soulful Feel
they are now noted for. Since its’ beginnings in Spring
of 2018 Keisha D and Hearts of Soul have grown in style,
music and funky soul leaving the audiences loving the
show, dancing and always wanting more. Keisha D and
Hearts of Soul is what The Great American Soul Book is
all about. Soul Music is our Love and Passion.
